Definition of Credit: A credit is a means of recognition of the successful completion of a course for which a minimum of 110 hours has been scheduled. It is granted to the student by the principal of a secondary school on behalf of the Minister of Education.
The Credit system: A credit is granted in recognition of the successful completion of a course that has been scheduled for a minimum of 110 hours. Credits are granted by a principal on behalf of the Minister of Education for courses that have been developed or approved by the ministry. A half credit may be granted for each 55-hour part of a 110-hour ministry-developed course. Half-credit courses must comply with ministry requirements as outlined in the curriculum policy documents.
We emphasize research, independent thinking, data analysis, report composition, and communication and public speaking, foundational skills that are required in order for students to succeed in university and ultimately their career of choice. By attending leadership programs, students not only acquire credits but pick up leadership skills. Our teaching emphasizes exchange of idea between teachers and students, stimulating the student’s interest and building their confidence in public speaking.
Ecole Ibn Batouta accepts new students only once a year in September. The seats in each classroom is very limited due to low teacher student ratio (1:12) and are filled on First come first serve basis. If you miss the deadlines for enrollment, please call our admissions office to inquire if there is any seat available and to discuss your options.
Policies and Procedures
- All applicants must Complete and submit Enrollment form, Pay Application Fee along with Copy of Valid Passport with at least 6 months validity from the intended date of departure and copy of Grade 12 Certificate / Diploma. The Formal Acceptance letter is issued within 5 Business days after receipt of completed Enrollment Form, Fee & requisite documents.
- Balance of Program Fee & Accommodation Fee within 5 days of date of Visa approval or 1 week prior to the start of the program whichever is earlier failing which the request for cancellation of Visas will be submitted to Immigration Canada.
- Only Canadian dollars currency will be accepted and disbursed for all fee deposits or refunds.
- Inclusions: Airport Pickup and Drop off, Program and course materials, Local Trips & Excursions, Accommodation on Twin sharing basis with Daily 3 Meals (Choice of Non Veg/Halal and Vegan)
- Exclusions: Visa Processing Fee, Venue Admission Tickets, Air Tickets, Pocket & Shopping Money are not included in the Program Fee.
Undertaking: I acknowledge & understand the following
- Completion of this program does not guarantee any employment.
- The College offering this program may cancel the enrollment if I do not meet the admission requirements of the program.
- I certify that I have read and understood this enrollment Form and understand my signing will constitute a contract between me and the offering institution.
- I undertake and agree to pay the Non Refundable Application Fee of $500 along with Enrollment Form and other required documents. The Balance Fee will be paid within 5 days of the date of Visa approval.
- In the event where the Canadian High Commission rejects an application for an entry visa, I will provide the offering institution a copy of visa rejection letter within 5 days from the date of issue of the refusal letter. I understand that Failure to provide refusal letter will be considered Visa granted and the program fee will become due.
- I understand once the Visa application is approved and I decided not to attend then I will not be entitled for any refund towards Full Program Fee & Accommodation Fee.
